Home Submit UPC Codes Copy Database Download Software Support Contact Us About

Welcome to our internet UPC Code Project. There are many sites on the net that allow users to submit and search UPC databases, but none that we've found allow the users to actually have a copy of the database. This doesn't seem very fair considering it's the users building the database.

Our Project allows users to submit UPC codes and description to our central database using software that helps standardize the entries. At the end of every 2 weeks, the top 10% contributors will be provided copies of the entire database. And since everyone's contributions reset every two weeks, everyone has a chance.

Why UPC entry software? The answer is simple. Our UPC software will allow you to quickly enter UPC codes to the database, utilizing renaming conventions that will help the UPC entries appear more standardized. Sure we could use back-end standardization but over time that would put more resources on our servers. Having the client UPC application do most of the work means more resources are available for searching. The UPC software should also allow faster entry than a web browser because of keying conventions.

Why build a UPC database? This isn't answered so easily. UPC databases are obviously held very closely and can cost lots of money to obtain. UPC bar code reading is a great feature to add to any application that involves inventory or access. Someday a UPC database might prove to be a good thing to own.

At the current time we are only interested in manufacturer specific UPC codes (ie, Coke, Ford, Universal, etc). There is no need to add store level UPC codes (ie, Kohl's UPC codes on their tickets).
